Assessing the hair transplant area

To kick off a hair transplant, the recipient area must be first measured and assessed accurately. This is to calculate the exact number of hair grafts required for a successful and desirable hair transplant. Generally, the hair transplant density is around 55-60 grafts per square centimeter.

Removing the hair grafts with a stepped-removal technique

The patient will be given a local anesthesia before the doctor uses a small instrument to select and remove the hair graft from the scalp at the back of the head which is called a safe donor area. The hair grafts in this Safe Donor area have natural properties of DHT hormone resistance so they are resistant to falling out consequently. This technique is a uniquely outstanding method as it requires no surgery, or even shaving, but utilizes the stepped-removal technique instead. Consequently, the wounds are nothing to be concerned.

Sorting and trimming hair grafts

The hair graft will be assessed, extracted, dissected and sorted under a microscope. At this stage, the moisture and the temperature must be maintained appropriately. After that, the hair grafts will be put into the holding solution to preserve their quality. Crucially, be careful not to let the hair grafts be outside the body for too long so that the survival rate and special properties can be maintained the best.

Strand-by-strand hair transplantation

The patient will be given a local anesthesia. Then the doctor uses a tiny instrument called an Implanter Pen, and forceps to precisely insert each graft into the recipient area, taking into account the right angle, direction, and orientation as well as the proper depth and density of insertion.
